West Coast Oysters

Totten Inlet

Puget Sound, Washington

Totten Inlet oysters are from the south Puget Sound area in Washington State.  They are raised on tidal beaches with sandy or rocky bottoms.  These oysters are accustomed to fighting tides and predators: known for tight lipped, fluted shells and hearty meats.  They have hard, sturdy shells that are easily shucked; not as brittle as other west coast oysters.  Additionally, their hard, tight lipped shells leads to a longer shelf life.

These oysters can grow up to three inches, making them great for grilling.  They have plump, creamy meats, medium brininess, and a full flavored bright sea grass/melon finish.
